The New Codex
A command center for AI agents
OpenAI just shipped the Codex MacOS app — Sam Altman called it “the most loved internal product we've ever had.” Here's what makes it different, and why Pontius fits perfectly.
Multi-agent workflows
Run multiple coding tasks in parallel. Each agent works in its own thread, organized by project. Switch between tasks without losing context.
Git worktrees
Each agent operates on an isolated code copy. Explore different implementation paths without impacting your main codebase. No merge conflicts mid-flow.
Skills system
Extend beyond code. Fetch designs from Figma, manage projects in Linear, deploy to Vercel, generate images with GPT Image. Pontius? That's a skill too.
30-minute autonomous runs
Agents work independently for up to 30 minutes before checking in. Handle complex projects while you focus elsewhere — like your inbox.
“Your agents code for 30 minutes. What do you do? Handle email.”
The Codex app frees you from constant supervision. Multi-agent workflows mean you're not watching code compile anymore. Pontius fills that time productively — triage your inbox while agents work in parallel.
Under the hood
Powered by GPT-5.2-Codex
The new model behind the Codex app brings serious capabilities. And Pontius leverages all of it.
400k
Token context
~100,000 lines of code. Entire email threads with full history, no problem.
50+
Languages
And natural language for email. Technical and conversational in one model.
7M+
Tokens in one session
OpenAI built an entire game in a single prompt. Your email backlog is trivial.

# Both run in parallel. Review when ready.Need more details? See the full installation guide and quick start docs.
Automations
Scheduled email triage
The Codex app supports automations — scheduled background tasks that run and queue results for review. Set up inbox triage every morning before you wake up.
Automation example:
"Every morning at 7 AM, triage my inbox. Archive newsletters, flag anything from @client.com as urgent, draft responses to support tickets."
You wake up to:
A queue of completed tasks waiting for your review:
- 47 newsletters archived
- 3 client emails flagged urgent
- 5 support ticket drafts ready to send
Review the drafts, approve with one click. Inbox handled before your first coffee.
Limited time
Free tier now available
OpenAI just opened Codex to free ChatGPT users. That means anyone can try the Codex app — and Pontius works with all tiers.
If you're on a paid plan, OpenAI is temporarily doubling rate limits. Perfect time to set up email automation.
